Il Pozzo

Follow the gentle strains of music down the little lane lined with photographs of local scenes, to this immaculately restored gem of a shop, complete, (as the name suggests) with the original well. This is a treasure trove of artisan products ranging from beautiful leather notebooks and bags to hand-made quill pens and extraordinary chess sets.

Ceramics
L’Antico Cocciaio,
located at via Benedetti 24, with a showroom at 69 via Nazionale, is crammed
to the rafters with local Cortonese ceramics – all adorned with a hand-painted olive green
and terracotta sunflower motif on a soft yellow base.  Every possible ceramic utensil is here from candlesticks to wine jugs, espresso sets to egg cups and everything in between – all at very reasonable prices for such handmade quality.  Every time we visit we add to your collection and always find items we have not seen before. There are also magnificent renaissance style wall plates in rich blues and turquoises which are reproductions of medieval designs.  The workshop also sells unglazed terracotta pieces such as house numbers, Christmas nativity scenes and baubles as well as wall planters. Any item can be shipped to anywhere in the world – the items are wrapped in wet hay for protection and this seems to work miraculously!

Designer and Brand Outlet
Gina Lebole, Arezzo - T
his is an outlet store for Marzotto, Missoni, Gianfranco Ferré, Jean Paul Gaultier and Principe amongst other designer labels sold. The store is always well-stocked with seasonal remnants and items with minor irregularities. Expect reductions of 30% to 60%.

Fabrics
Busatti
weavers of superb linen and cotton is located in a vaulted 16th century showroom in Anghiari and is where Miuccia Prada and Valentino order made to measure table linen. If you are lucky, they will take you on a tour of the workshop. run by the Busatti-Sassolini family since 1842. Busatti still uses the antique weaving and manufacturing techniques it has used through the years and this distinguishes the firm from its competition. Gorgeous hand made fabrics made from precious fibres are used to create home-linens, curtains, rugs, towels, cushions, aprons and tablecloths in a vast range of colours and workmanships. Busatti also produces arthenware and glassware to compliment their fabrics and style.
